野兽的祸根 by Alexis Wong is an animated short film with a dreamy, 故事书般的美感,立即将观众带入故事中. 引人入胜的旁白和舒缓的音景带回童年故事和终生难忘的教训的回忆. 这部电影通过一个简单的内容进一步巩固了这一点, 通过主角的眼睛传达了关于被拒绝的风险的强有力的信息, a creature constantly met with disapproval by the other herds in the land. The film’s bold but grounded end sets a reminder that perfect happy endings are not the only way to end a story with a strong message; the film’s epilogue gives us a glimmer of hope as we witness the greater destiny that was meant for the creature. Wong’s willingness to write a conclusion that does not magically resolve everything, but instead shows the harsher side of discrimination is a decision I felt produced a vastly more memorable and impactful story with a bittersweet outcome. The film is visually creative and fascinating. While the animation could be improved and more consistent, the colorful, unique, and vibrant style more than makes up for this. 总体, an enchanting and touching animated short film.
