中国の先駆者: オーストラリアのレジリエンスとコミュニティに関する魅力的な物語

ジャック・デウィット著

In the story 中国の先駆者 directed by Ying Chu, the audience learns about the first Chinese pioneers in Australia. After the early 1900s, assimilation of the Chinese into the broader Australian culture became increasingly difficult due to xenophobia and racism.

To combat these prejudices, an association called the “中華協会” was formed and later recognized by the supreme court of the country. The association would go on to serve as a cornerstone for the Chinese people while also cultivating relationships with the local community. The population of Chinese citizens in Western Australia has increased significantly from what it was in the early 1900s.

I appreciated the concise historical overview of this topic and the live-action footage of the Australian Chinese community in this video. しかしながら, I wish the focus could have been broader than one family’s experience.

My rating for this film is 4/5
