Ebben 3-minute performance, five Bard Conservatory musicians perform individually and the videos are combined to form a seamless ensemble. Without watching the video, it sounds as if the performers are all together on the same stage while playing their instruments. The artists in the quintet are Jillian Reed (flute), Hívja Shinert (oboe), Collin Lewis (clarinet), Eleni Georgiadis (french horn), and Anna Pem (bassoon). Each wind instrument has its own unique sound but when the 5 come together they provide an uplifting presentation. The piece was composed by Theodor Anton Blumer (1881 - 1964) a German composer and conductor whose works include music for solo piano, string orchestra, and mixed chamber groups, as well as works for larger ensembles.
This performance was impressive because the musicians are not playing in the same location. I imagine it would be more difficult to perform when you don’t have the support of the other musicians around you. All five performers are very talented musicians, and I am curious to see other performances by them. It was also exciting to see that musicians are finding ways to perform even during the pandemic. This makes me hopeful for the future of music.
I rate this performance 4 kívül 5 csillagok.
