Ortadoğu'da Barışın Artması is a short documentary style film from young director Steven Hoffen. As just a seventh grader from New York, he already has the candor of a middle-aged, educated adult. He pulls from personal experience of travel to detail the work done by a non-profit in Israel.
Sindyanna is an organization that aims to “grow peace” in the Middle East by connecting Jewish and Arab women through sustainable gardening. Through innovative new techniques like hydroponic gardens, women are able to cultivate new skills, gain independence, and build powerful bonds with others.
Bay. Hoffen eloquently combines information and personal testimony from both himself and the women themselves to paint a beautiful picture of the work being done to mend broken relationships in the Middle East. The simplicity, efficiency and effectiveness of Steven’s production is profound for someone his age.
I am pleased to rate this short documentary with five stars.
