Lee White’s Derek and His Brick – Fusing Reality into Imaginative Reality
Lee White’s Derek and His Brick is a very imaginative short film in which elements of live action, animation, and poetry are used to immerse the audience in a world with very witty storytelling. The flow of poetry and music in the short film gives the video a very unique feel, while also giving off a nostalgic feel, as the characters and art style can be linked to familiar things of the past.
This four minute short was created during the lockdown period, which demonstrates what can be accomplished through art and creativity while being restricted to one location.
I thoroughly enjoyed this short film and am appreciative that I had the privilege of being one of the first to view it.
Derek and His Brick is worth the watch and I would recommend sharing it with others to allow them to step inside the creative world Lee White has brought through this project.
I would rate this short film 5 out of 5 stars.
