この中の 19 minute フィルム, multiple environmentalists speak on the dangers of the increasing amount of plastic in our oceans. The film is devastating and eye-opening to the effect humans continue to have on sealife.
Directed by Line Hadsbjerg, プラスチック切れ is set in the Balearic Islands where there is a massive amount of plastic in the Mediterranean Sea. Plastic is contaminating the Mediterranean Sea, which leads to fish consuming microplastics. Throughout the film, there are clips of garbage on the beaches, which is described as “the ocean regurgitating into our coastline.” In プラスチック切れ, big businesses like Coca Cola are called out for manufacturing single use packaging, which ends up in the ocean and beaches.
This film is a call to action for people to pick up garbage on beaches and to recycle plastics. Environmentalists on the Balearic Islands suggest the first step to counteracting plastic in the ocean is to educate people on the biodiversity of the Mediterranean Sea. I learned a lot from this film, resulting in me recycling plastics at home and reducing the amount of single use plastic items I purchase at the grocery store. I highly recommend this film to everyone so that we can prevent future contamination of oceans.
