反射 is a short film by director Malibu Taetz that depicts a shy office clerk trying to brighten a co-worker’s day after seeing her through a reflection. The film has very little dialogue and manages to have a deep level focus on the actors’ body language and facial expressions, allowing the audience to interpret the scenes in their own way, while also maintaining a storyline with the actions of the characters.
The film was shot in one frame which represented the window reflection and how the main character used the reflection to see his co-worker without facing her. It conveys how the office clerk is shy and unsure of how to approach his co-worker. 全体の, the lighting and the music in the film create a calm and warming atmosphere while watching the office clerk helping his co-worker without her knowing.
Malibu Taetz does an amazing job at illustrating the idea of a person struggling to approach someone who they want to talk to without knowing what to say or do. The short film depicts a great example of a common situation many people go through without the use of dialogue, making every scene in the film feel more meaningful.
