Morning Wu’s animated short film, To The Highest Point Near The Sun, is truly a unique depiction of the human condition of belonging. Wu utilizes a wide array of art forms, including collage paintings and video footage, in order to portray an individual’s very far journey as they seemingly search for a sense of kinship and acceptance. Wu also sings throughout the short about traveling to this ‘highest point near the sun’ which adds a raw and emotional element to the story.
I found this short film to be incredibly creative and a different way of approaching this theme. Wu manages to showcase the talents of not only their work, but also that of other artists through the different mediums. The concept itself seems very new and experimental, creating an unpredictable nature throughout the narration of the short film. Εξάλλου, having the protagonist move through space and unrecognizable elements until they are greeted with the extension of another hand was very gratifying.
Θα έδινα αυτήν την ταινία 5/5 αστέρια.
