From our artistic friends at Bard Conservatory comes a teljesítmény by soprano Lucy Fitz Gibbon and pianist Ryan McCullough. Together they perform the Lied, “Im Fruhling” (In Spring) by Franz Schubert, set to the poem, “On the 31st of March 1815,” by Ernst Schulze.
Schubert composed the song in 1826 to Schulze’s poem as part of 10 poems by Schulze he set to music. The performance includes a segment featuring McCollough playing the harmonium (a hand-pumped organ), which adds a unique and distinctive touch to the duo’s overall presentation.
As both musical and life partners, Lucy and Ryan have worked closely with emerging and established composers alike. This performance left me wanting to listen to more unique combinations of music and poetry. I give this short film 4 kívül 5 csillagok.
