Electric vehicles are among our most promising options for clean mobility. However, deeply rooted fossil fuel institutions and microchip shortages are threatening its future popularity.
This is a very short video clocking in at one minute and forty-four seconds (hence the short review), but it manages to reasonably compact a complex situation regarding electric vehicles. We know driving them is efficient, but what about building them?
Sha’Quiel Smith walks us through many of the obstacles in between us and clean mobility, including microchip shortage, fossil fuel dependence, and our current nationwide infrastructure.
By the end of its runtime we are left with a few options for moving forward, and a better understanding of electric mobility and its potential.
I do think the lack of any sort of vocal dialogue is a shame because I think it would have significantly improved its effectiveness and given us a more personal attachment to Sha’Quiel and her message. The music helps to fill that gap a bit.
I would rate this 2 out of 5 stars.
