گیلاس, why did you decide to interview Marinel Ubaldo? What inspired you about her?

I am an avid advocate for climate justice. As I learn and work with youth around the world through my organization, Greener is Cleaner, to discuss climate issues and solutions, Marinel stands out as a prominent climate activist and advocate for climate justice. After finding out about her childhood in the Philippines and her experiences with typhoons and disaster consequences, I wanted to hear directly from her about her perspective on global climate action shaped by her own experience.

چه چیزی شما را در مصاحبه خود شگفت زده کرد?

Her answers were all very insightful. I think she rightfully emphasized the importance of countries enacting innovative strategies, investing in clean technologies, and promoting cross-industry collaborations. As I am personally interested in global collaboration for climate action, I have done personal research and participated in many conferences on the matter. Marinel brought up relevant keywords for such agendas around energy transition and reducing emissions by 2030.

What are your main takeaways for the Net Zero audience from your interview with Marinel?

My main takeaways are:

For equitable climate finance, countries with higher climate action capacities and capabilities should mobilize funds for adaptation and mitigation in vulnerable regions. We should create sustainable solutions that benefit both the environment and communities. Along with that, we must recognize that community-based strategies and local initiatives are as important as global ones, and we should support them actively.

متشکرم, Marinel!
