Hazel Jones creates a wholesome and deeply inspirational project about finding one’s true self in The Search for Me. This short film follows an individual who, whilst applying for college and struggling to answer the essay question regarding who they really are, is visited by the younger version of themselves. This younger version proceeds to take the college applicant on a journey filled with all of the activities they used to love and engage in as a child.
This film is one for all audiences, but specifically for anyone who may be experiencing any kind of anxiety about who they are or what path they should take. It can be daunting to truly think about where you fit and the kind of person you are, but Jones promotes this idea of looking within and reconnecting with all of those aspects of life that once brought you joy.
I found The Search for Me to be really unique in its execution and incredibly entertaining. The film ends once the college applicant is seen jumping into a lake – participating in an activity they may have strayed from with little hesitancy. Bunu yaparken, the younger version that had previously been present is able to leave abruptly but necessarily.
The overall message was very moving and as a result, bu filmi verirdim 5 dışında 5 yıldızlar.
