Dans The Sun Will Save Us, Tanner Sell présente un argument solide et informatif expliquant pourquoi l'énergie solaire est la principale source d'énergie pouvant contribuer à la lutte contre le changement climatique.. Grâce à l'utilisation de sous-titres à l'écran et à un flux fréquent de séquences illustrant des installations de panneaux solaires, ce court métrage met en lumière à la fois le besoin d'énergie solaire, as well as the main reasons why it is currently impractical to adopt such a system on a nationwide scale. I felt that this was an incredibly well done and well-researched project that should definitely be used to educate as many audiences as possible. Understanding the need for a reliable energy source especially now, when the effects of climate change are rampant and constantly getting worse, is beyond necessary.
One feature I would have preferred is the use of a voice over as I felt it would have given more power to the narrative. The calming music in the background combined with the pure text as a way of giving information paints a picture that the issue at hand isn’t very dire – when I’m sure that’s not the intention. It would have been a great addition to hear a voice, even if it was for a few scenes.
Cependant, The Sun Will Save Us is a vital contribution to the conversation of climate change. I give this film a rating of 4 de 5 étoiles.
