There Is No Lack of Hope in the Slums

Írta: Tanner Sell

Slum Dreams is a short, documentary-style film from director Brendan Morini that analyzes the dire situations unfolding in the Kenyan slum of Nyalenda. Despite the lack of funds and overall support for higher education, kids growing up in this area are still filled with potential and hope to reach their dreams.

This film follows a few kids and the future that has been restored to them thanks to the Young County Change Makers (YCCM). This small school/library serves as an intermediate step in education that connects kids with the tools required to fulfill their potential. From being a journalist to a pilot, the YCCM has reminded the children of Nyalenda that there is a larger world outside of their slum.

Brendan Morini does a terrific job capturing the simultaneous strife and capacity for success of the people of Nyalenda. His work serves as an important reminder to the native people and everyone abroad of what we are each capable of.

Örömmel értékelem ezt a filmet 5 kívül 5 csillagok.
