In the important and inspiring documentary, 希望の糸 by Bill Knowles, the issues of sexism and unfair treatment of women workers in Nepal are tackled. We see women turn to home-based work to provide for themselves and their families, despite lack of education and government recognition.

I teared up a couple of times while watching this film. Learning how these women strive to survive, some without family or spousal support, was impactful. I empathize with their anxieties and frustrations, as well as their hope for the future. The end message, urging collective action for oppressed women, resonated deeply.
